Prometheus Dasmahapatra

Postdoctoral fellow

I completed my B. Tech. in Electrical Engineering from West Bengal University of Technology in 2009 and my MSc in Nanoelectronics from the University of Manchester, U.K., in 2011. I received my Ph.D. in February 2016 for my work on “Ring Resonator based Integrated Photonic Circuits” carried out at the COBRA Research Institute, Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands.
I worked as a Design and Engineering consultant for ASML between 2016 to early 2017 mainly in the context of next generation EUV scanners following which I returned to Academic Research to work as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Indian Institute of Science, India, working on the development of a platform for group III-N opto-electronic devices. In March 2018, I joined the Photonics Research Labs at iTEAM, Politècnica de València as a member of the UMWP-Chip Project.
My research experience, both past and present, include the simulation, design, fabrication, and evaluation of integrated opto-electronic devices and circuits based on Silicon-on-Insulator technology and InP active-passive integration technology. I have been involved in several research projects and have more than 20 publications in peer reviewed, international journals and conferences.
