PhD Student

Giuseppe Libero Bufi

I hold a BSc degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Bari and a MSc in Electronics Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Turin, obtained in 2015 and 2017, respectively.

During my MSc I carried out my Master’s Thesis in the Nanophotonics Technology Center of the Polytechnic University of Valencia, on 2D grating couplers’ design and characterization. Later, I worked as a superior technician in the same research center within the photovoltaics research group until 2020.

In September 2021 I started a PhD degree in the Photonics Research Labs, focusing on broadband hybrid silicon nitride photonic integrated circuits.

David has obtained a solid research experience through internships performed in laboratories in Canada, France and Italy working on integrated photonics, biophotonics and photonics-based radars, respectively.
